Location! Location! Location!

Church interiorOur property at the corner of Colfax and Moorpark is the ideal destination for your next shoot. The main sanctuary has a clean, colonial style, affording many different ‘church’ scenarios. It features a pulpit, a lectern, a world-class pipe organ, choir loft, baptismal font, communion altar, grand piano, balcony and pew seating for nearly 300. The exterior of FCCNH has a regal, New England look, complete with steeple and programmable bells. Adjacent to this majestic façade is a parking lot that is available on it’s own, as a staging area for neighborhood filming or as a base while shooting here on our campus.

For a more intimate setting, the FCCNH Chapel is ideal. A beautiful stained glass window is the focal point, along with an altar, melodic working organ and pew seating for 65.

If your script calls for something a bit more secular, our property also boasts a large social hall (with wood floors and stage), full kitchen, offices, classrooms, nursery school (summer availability only), garden/courtyard and a flower shop.

Anniversaries

Let us help you remember that special day when you committed to the one you love. In this world where divorce seems to be the norm, a couple managing to stay together through thick and thin deserves some celebration! If you and your spouse have made it to a significant anniversary, or you just want to have a “do-over” wedding, consider a vow renewal. You can have a small intimate ceremony in our Chapel or a large extravagant ceremony in our Sanctuary.

Accommodations can also be made for any size reception, grand or small, after the ceremony. We would love to be a part of reaffirming your commitment to one another.

Anniversary Location

Baptisms

The practice of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is to baptize by immersion those who are prepared to make a confession of faith in Jesus Christ. We also recognize that many in our community, indeed in our own congregation come to us from a variety of church and denominational backgrounds.

There are those who seek to christen or baptize their children in infancy. We are able to accommodate families who come from different traditions or who are not members of this church. Baptisms for youth or adults at First Christian Church of North Hollywood are usually done every Easter Sunday at the Sunrise Service and the 7:00 pm Service, or by appointment with one of the Pastors.

Infant and Child Dedications

In dedicating children we recognize and celebrate God’s gift of life and His love, which is extended to every person. It is the church’s celebration of life in which we express our awareness and thanksgiving for God’s surrounding love.

While our Church has never practiced infant baptism, we feel it is important for children and their parents to be dedicated to a Christian lifestyle within the fellowship of the Church. A Service of Dedication is thus held, at the request of a parent, as a part of the regular Sunday morning worship service or privately arranged with the minister. As part of that service the parents pledge to help lead their child to an eventual confession of faith in Jesus Christ and Christian Baptism at an ‘age of accountability’.

Memorials and Funerals

Because every life is special and unique, we offer personalized Memorial and/or Funeral services for your deceased loved ones. Our ministers work with each family to design a unique service that will honor your loved one, and will reflect the personality, or life-stories of the deceased. You may choose to have a favorite song played or sung live by one of our soloists. Our desire is to serve your family and provide a meaningful place to begin the healing journey after the death of a loved one.

Quinceñearas

A Quinceañera is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for a young woman to celebrate life and gratitude to God as she passes from childhood to adulthood. First Christian Church would love to be a part of this special day in her life. We have a beautiful sanctuary to hold the service in and a hall that can be transformed into a girl’s dream for the celebration. Let us help you create a blessed and magical day for your daughter because she deserves it.
